Tips from the Butcher: Sausage Stuffers

IF YOUR STUFFING  MEAT BAGS, OR SAUSAGE CASINGS, THEN  CONSIDER A STUFFER OVER A GRINDER..  NO COMPARISON IN GETTING THE JOB COMPLETED.

Stuffing with a grinder works but it is the hard way. You grind the meat twice, your ready to quit.   The big job is still ahead of you.

ABES considers the sausage stuffer the second most important piece of equipment for your processing needs.  The Grinder being the first.

A sausage stuffer gives you total control.  ABES recommends the 15lb. model or larger.   Too much time is spent on refilling the smaller models.  Bigger is better.  

Many of our customers are using the sausage stuffer to do the 1# and 2# meat bags.The stuffer will keep up with the grinder and your job is completed in about half the time.  Consider a taper to close the meat bags...

ABES rents the 25# @ $ 35.00/day..  A good way to go and if your just doing meat bags once a year,  it makes more sense to rent than to buy.

Renting also gives you the opportunity to try one before you invest.
